Dev Ray College, Nayapalli (Bhubaneswar) trounced Raghunath Jew College (Cuttack) by 82 runs in the zonal final to emerge champions in the Utkal University Inter-College Cricket Tournament at SCB Medical College ground here today. The zonal final, featuring a total of seven matches, was hosted by SCB Medical College.
Prof Dr Manmohan Rout, Principal, Government College of Physical Education, Bhubaneswar, handed over the trophy at the closing function. Utkal University Sports Officer Ambika Prasad Ray and SCB Medical College Sports Officer Tarini Prasad Das were present on the occasion.
RESULTS (Zonal Finals):
Nov 13 (1st QF): Dev Ray College, Bhubaneswar 215/6 in 40 overs (Asish Sahoo 86, Avinab Ghosh 45, Sashikant Sethi 40; Jyoti Bardhan Mohanty 2/41) beat Jayadev College, Naharkanta 102/10 in 32 overs (Prabhu Prasad Samantray 31; Sumit Kumar Moharana 4/12, Kuna Gochayat 2/18) by 113 runs.
